The Early Years
Bandeirante can most reliably be translated from Portuguese to English as "Pioneer" or "Trailblazer". Not to be confused with the Chevrolet SUV under the same namesake here in the United States, the Brazilian Bandeirante is what we've been calling the Toyota Land Cruiser for over 60 years. Toyota's longest running series has gone through changes like any other model throughout its lifetime and has several different variations around the world, but has maintained its dominance of the market through its tenured reliability and function as an off-road workhorse.
